Past and present...

Post by Forum_2014 »

Hi all, I'm Paolo from L'Aquila, Italy. I started astrophotography many years ago, when the best performances were offered by special emulsions. A few years ago the "jump" in digital world!

I like to do a comparison between the results obtainable years ago and in recent times:

On the left, a photo I took in 1985. One 60 minutes single shot, manual autoguiding. Development and printing at home. On the right, the same target with a scope just a little bit larger. CCD camera and processing with Astroart. What a difference!

Using more integration time, I started to obtain similar things:

Suburban site, processing with Astroart.

I was lucky enough to cross both eras, film and CCD. So I greatly appreciate the digital revolution of which Astroart is part.

I've still got many things to learn, including for example correctly reproduce the appearance of brighter stars (color and size) and hope to learn processing tips thanks to this forum.

Presently, my main activity concerns spectrography. There would be several AA implementations for simplify operations. Maybe later I try to ask...

See you!
Ciao,
Paolo

PS: sorry for bad english...
