AA5 scripts and WIN10

Post by RoStm » 24 Feb 2020, 20:40

Hello all,

after having installed the elderly AA5 on a new acquired WIN 10 machine I experienced a bad surprise:
When running a script with the first line reading
' Script_matrix.txt - 29.08.2019 Stm
I get the following error message
'29.08.2019 is not a valid floating point value

When I replace the first dot in the line by a comma the error message reads
Unknown function 'Load_Param' - Line 37

The script language is based on Basic where the character _'_ stands for REM = remark which should not have undergone any change at any time. So why should this very very odd behavior occur?

Can anyone please shed light on this unexpected and indeed odd behavior?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Rolf Stadelmaier

Hello,
if the same script works on the old PC, verify that AA5 and GUI plugin are the same version on the new PCs.

Last Service pack for AA5 was SP5, last GUI was version 5.43.
Please check and report about this.

Yes, the same script works on my other (older) PCs under Windows 7 32/64 bit very well. I tested all the Service packs SP1 through SP5, latest Camera plugins and several piccdgui.dll's with no other result.

So far I can not see any explanation for this different appearance.

Thank you for replying,
Rolf

Hello, with the piccdgui version 5.43, create a short script which triggers the problem, then copy and paste it on the forum.
When the GUI starts, verify that "Version 5.43" is shown in the status bar.

Hello,
apparently this was the last try I had not yet done. Actually with the piccdgui version 5.43 the script execution is running as usual.
Many thanks for your expert help.

Kind regards,
Rolf
