Hello, I was asked what are the best settings to stack astronomical JPEG images from DSLRs.
Well, since the images are 8 bit, there are just two good options: SUM and SIGMA+SUM.

Today I received the following result image:
Sigma+Sum stacking of 14 images, 120 seconds each exposure, 4 dark frames (everything in JPEG), the only camera setting was Temperature Color = 5600K. This came from a Fuji FinePix S5 Pro, from 2007.
I found that photographers still like this camera, for example: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4153660

Clear skies,
Fabio.
