RGB artificacts in monochrome image stacking

Post by Stargazer14 » 17 Aug 2025, 12:46

Hello,

I have some mono CCD images taken on a trip to Namibia earlier this year.

When I come to stack them, using AA7 SP6, I end up with some red and blue coloured artifacts in the image.

FYI I am using a SX694M CCD with Astronomic 6nm CCD filter.

Can anyone suggest how to stop these artifacts appearing during the stacking process - they are not hot pixels.

thanks.

Robert

Hello, maybe the option "RGB demosaic" in Preprocessing was still active, despite it's a mono CCD ?
This could explain the coloured artifacts.
Fabio.

Hello Fabio,

never thought about checking that - thanks for the information.

Thanks.
