object goto's trouble

I use an AP 1200 mount, ascom drives and a zwo camera.
I have trouble with go to objects; I am doing something wrong.
Here is what I do, I initialize the mount so that the Ascom drivers are loaded.
I set up the camera and telescope in the software.
I then go to the star atlas and enter the intended object , hit the telescope goto and let it run. When it stops I take an image, focus and easily plate solve the image. After that I am never sure of my next step as the object is never in the fov. So I synch on the plate solved image in the telescope module and hit goto again. this usually fails. So what Have I done wrong??I typically have not entered the name or coordinates in the telescope control box.
I read in the manual of AA9 or a forum post that by hitting goto in the telescope control box the software will automatically do a plate solve and direct the scope to the intended object. what are my mistakes??thanks
the rest of AA9 works well.

What is your scope and camera?
Have you done decent polar alignment? Say better than 5'?
Do you have correct location and date/time set?

Hi, the button for automatic [ Imaging + Plate solving +Telescope centering ] is inside the Telescope Window, "Center" page, "Exposure + Center" button. If you prefer to do that manually, then after plate solving click "Sync ... " / "Last image" from the "GOTO" page of the Telescope Window, then repeat the GOTO.
