Ambient temperature in FITS header?

Post by Rudi » 19 Jun 2019, 15:09

I see that the sensor temperature from my ZWO ASI 1600 MM Pro is stored along in the fits header.

If I have an ambient temperature sonsor, will it be possible to store this value in fits header as well?

I have ordered a ZWO EAF (https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/zwo-eaf) with a temperature sensor.
It is still not in stock, so I have no idea how the ZWO EAF makes the temperature available.

If the ZWO EAF sends temperature over ASCOM, I suppose it will be AOCAMBT:

Code: Select all

AOCAMBT – ASCOM Observatory Conditions – Ambient temperature in degrees C
See https://diffractionlimited.com/help/max ... itions.htm

Hello, the FITS keyword to be used is not a problem.
The feature to be added is to read the ambient temperature from the focuser and store it to images downloaded from the camera. This could be an interesting option for the Service Pack 2.

Thanks Fabio. It’s still not in stock, so I haven’t gotten it yet, I’ll try asking ZWO.

OK, please write me by PM or email to receive a prerelease of the SP2 with that function.
