Using AA6 to guide a fibre optic echelle spectroscope

Just a question.....
Does anyone have experience/ comment on using AA6 to guide a fibre optic feed head on an echelle spectroscope?
Normally this would entail focusing the target star image onto the end of a 50micron circular fibre. Obviously when the star FWHM is smaller than the 50micron circle it will effectively "disappear" into the hole leaving little or no residual "halo" to guide on.
Feedback welcome.
