Well done Fabio!!
I hope AstroArt becomes even more of a success and is recognized as the software of choice by many.

Hi Fabio,
great improvements indeed. I am beginning to test and give a try to new features. For some of them it is easy (points syntetic flat field is great, new script commands, etc.) , but for many others it is an hard task even to find where an option can be activated. Please can you give more details for each point in the new feature list? Thanks.

Hello,

Compress star with adaptive option, there a new tutorial about it "Masks" using the Coma image.

The four new options (automatic zoom at opening, remember last folder, big fonts and brightness) are all in the first page of the Preferences window.

Sequencer. Can be opened from the Sequence Page of the camera control.

Sequencer script template, click Menu in Sequence window ("Create similar script").

The script template for file lists is in the Menu of the Script window "Template for images..". The demo just open and close images.

The Aladin web site can be opened from the context menu of a calibrated image or the context menu of star atlas. If you need to pass an image to Astroart I suggest this procedure: In the browser click the button "Manage Layers", disable "Reticle" and click "Export view as PNG". When the image appears right click to Copy Image and Paste into Astroart.

Automatic coregister, there is no longer need to select the three stars on both image (if the scale is not too different, say from 50% to 200%) this can be useful to align images taken with the procedure above.

Comet filter and Multiscale filter, are placed in the Filters menu.

Profiles in real time, there's a button in the Profile Window, see the Guide for more info.

Numeric fields, inside all edit boxes press CTRL while you rotate the wheel to move the value quickly.

Photometry plots, the new commands are inside the Graph Window of photometry.

Immediate plate solve, works like normal plate solve but the dialog window is not shown, to save time.

Rectangle selection, Line selection, Annotations, can be moved with the keyboard (CTRL+Arrow) or mouse (CTRL+Drag).

All new commands should be documented in the Help, if not please report the problem.

Thanks Fabio,
As a long time, but infrequent user due to bad weather, I am always impressed by the power of AstroArt. I recently saw a thread on another board about software for astrophotography and imaging and the "ding" against AstroArt was the documentation. It is powerful, and very intuitive, but as others have said, a real good tutorial series and manual would be very appreciated.
I barely have enough clear nights to even warrant having a scope and all the accessories for imaging, but I enjoy it and hope to continue this fascinating hobby. For the laggards out there like me, tutorials are priceless. (I have started playing with iTelescope remote telescope and am obtaining images to actually process. Though most of the fun is in getting the hardware to work!)
Thanks again for a great product and service!

Just downloaded new version.
Good things it evolves and in good direction, I think.
However I have one request, concerning gradient removal.
There are good tools for it already but I'd like one thing to be added to this new point gradient removal.
Ie some sort of automatic setting of points. Something in the way like Regim software has it - automatic or according to ADU levels.
I remember there was a plugin for AA like that for the older version.

Edit: Tried to make artificial flats and they were really jagged

Hello, the jagging is correct in integer mode, as shown in the graph every step is exactly 1 ADU, which is the best resolution for an image in integer format.
For fractional values, you should work in floating point. But I wouldn't do that considering that a typical CCD image has a random noise of 5-10 ADUs.
