Re: Profile line: Strange behavior

Hello, I confirm that if the second point is outside the image then the "Change profile" function does not work. It will be fixed in Service Pack 6. For the moment the only solution is to limit the line inside the borders of the image.
Thanks, Fabio.

Re: Guiding problems

Hello, "Ascom camera relays" and "Lodestar relays" both mean the "relay cable", usually ST4 compatible, which is connected directly from the camera to the "ST4 autoguide port" of the mount. If you are not using that cable, then both settings are wrong. The best setting would have been that cable, bu...

Re: Download speed on ASCOM vs. native drivers

So, that ASCOM interface added a latency of 0.15 seconds per Megapixel. A native driver could be very useful for OSC cameras with more than 10 Megapixel, where you are forced to download images in binning 1x1. It will be developed. Meanwhile if QHY solves the ASCOM problem please report here. I didn...

Plugin for Starnet++

Hello, Starnet++ is a software used to remove stars using artificial intelligence. A plug-in for Astroart is now ready: http://www.msb-astroart.com/ The plugin contains a detailed "readme" file about installing both Starnet++ and the Astroart Plugin. Read it carefully, remember that the image must b...

Re: Download speed on ASCOM vs. native drivers

Interesting: first, is the quality really the same? Downloading a multimegapixel image in 0.2 seconds could mean that readout mode was different (more quantization, faster ADC setting, lossy compression?). The following test could tell: a 5-10 seconds flatfield-like image at half range (30000 ADU), ...

Re: Fits Header Temperature

Hi, it's a problem of the M25c plug-in.
Here's the correction: http://www.msb-astroart.com/plugins/dm25-v21.zip

Re: How does Astroart autofocus compensate for backlash?

No it seems to me a different algorithm. I would call it the "same direction" algorithm.
Going in the same direction guarantees that the focuser is returned to the same places where the measurement steps were tried.
The actual numeric position does not matter.

Re: How does Astroart autofocus compensate for backlash?

Hi, if backlash is enabled in the software then all movements are performed in the same direction. This means that a movement may be prepared going back by a certain amount. This amount is quite high (a full autofocus step), so for example 200 steps. This is possible because focusers are quite fast ...

Re: Problem with sequence

The residual charge can be a problem only for extremely saturated images, maybe that was an indoor test. For astronomical uses it will not happen. Just make a test on the sky when possible. In the worst case it's simpler to just skip the first dark frame from the stacking.

Re: Problem with sequence

some questions:

1) Is the filter wheel an ASCOM device ?
2) Can you hear the motor still moving when the next exposure is taken ?
3) Can you exclude a problem caused by residual charge? The light image seems extremely saturated (65000-65000).

Re: asrtroart 7 what debrayer pattern for color zwo294

Hi, open a raw image (with some data) and click Menu Color / RGB demosaic. In the Dabayer panel you will see something like 5% 5% 45% 45%, the correct setting is one of the two "45%".
The setting will be remembered, it will be used later in Preprocessing to stack images.
