Continue this plate solve thing.
Just tried plate solving with AA 8.
It seems it can't solve if I don't rotate (and flip horizontally) but if I do it will solve. Camera angle is -87.
Plate solving has default setting, ie 180 degrees rotation.

Re: Follow minor planet - or comet
I guess they work if they are rotated. But was hoping it would work without doing it.
Guess I would like an explanation why they need to be rotated before the follow comet stacking works.
Edit: I think I got it working now.
My rotation angle is now -87.07 ( in Observer settings).

Re: Follow minor planet - or comet
I would still like to make this work (without rotating images). I plate solve image and get -92.65 as camera rotation angle. Put this in Observatory data. Get current comet data (angle and speed). And the result is image attached. Does it make difference that in fits the camera angle is 88 (SGP puts...

Fabio has good solution.
For now I have used free ASTAP software for selection

Re: Feature request
Thank you for suggestions.
I propose an other
In gradient reduction using points could there be feature for spreading points based on adu levels, or some kind of automatic spreading?

Re: Feature request
Yes. And flats too (sometimes dust motes move...).

Re: Color camera images: extract the 4 different color planes
I don't think for flat framing it's a good idea - or artificial flats for that matter.
Why can't you make 'real' flats ?
Or just extract RGB ?

Re: Astroart stacking error with flipped images
Manual settings, ie rotate 180 doesn't help.

Astroart stacking error with flipped images
I'm taking images with SGP.
AA produces error of images after meridian flip.
I'm using automatic setting in Align options.
See if I can attach two images before meridian flip and after. Nope, file too big even zipped.
Using AA7 with SP1.

Re: Follow minor planet - or comet
Back to this.
Today I made a macro to rotate all comet files so they would be north/south.
And now the follow minor planet aligning worked.
