Re: Feature request:AA6 focus algorithm with FF focus.
Hi, the "AA6 method" cannot be used on multiple stars at a time, but there is no need for it: the method "Small disc" is actually the same thing, even more precise. I suggest to compare in the focus window the "AA6 method" and "Small disc", they are very similar. Fabio. Thanks, I'll compare them to...

Feature request:AA6 focus algorithm with FF focus.
Feature request: AA6 focus algorithm with FF focus.
Would this be possible? I find the AA6 focus algorithm the most accurate, but it's not available for FF AutoFocus.
thanks

Re: Plate solving in AA8
I started out in astro imaging, when I retired in 2002. The first project was to build a roll-off-roof observatory, and after the first winter I added a warm room :) . The RoR obsy worked fine, unless it was very windy, which caused problems with the 12" SCT on a fork mount. So in 2008, I built an ...

Re: Plate solving in AA8
Thanks for your input guys, it is much appreciated. I will continue investigating AA8's Plate Solving function, indoors while this cloud persists. I don't want to be wasting imaging opportunities on it, while I have a very effective Sharpcap/All Sky Plate Solver combination to use. As I said earlie...

Re: Plate solving in AA8
Now that I have got AA8 'talking' remotely (Ethernet) to my setup, I thought it would nice to run everything, i.e. Capture, Guiding, and Plate Solving in a single package. I am currently using Sharpcap with PHD2 for capture/guiding, and AA8 for processing. As I am currently stuck under a blanket of...

Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) from Dec 6 2021
This is an animation of Leonard created using Astroart 8's (AA8) animated blink tool. The individual frames were all colour decoded, flat fielded, hot pixel filtered and dark subtracted by AA8's preprocessing tool by using the 'keep all files open' option during the generation of a stacked image. I ...

Re: AA8 failure to connect to camera
( Install AA8 on the remote computer and then control it remotely from your workstation using Chrome Remote Desktop. It's a free install, that is cross platform and win version and takes about 30 seconds to setup. Maybe not relevant) Also the cameras should show up in the USB devices list on the min...

Re: Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1)
Nice, is it possible to make both the comet and the stars stacket as with DSS Inside AA8 ? See the previous post about NGC7380. I think the way to do it is too remove the stars from the sub exposures with the Starnet plug-in, stack the comet, then add the stars back in, after masking out the comet ...
