Re: How to measure planet disk position in an image?
Hello, I cannot imagine an automatic procedure to do that, but if it's sufficient to work on 5-10 images it could be done manually. For example: 1) Stretch the visualization to make the edges of the planet clear, but be careful with the dark side. 2) Zoom 2X. 3) Create a rectangular or an elliptic A...

Re: Flats flip
OK, actually ROWORDER "top-down" is fine as well.
The problem is when ROWORDER is completely missing.
Clear skies, Fabio.

Re: Flats flip
Hi, probably all lights, flats and darks FITS files are incorrectly saved vertically flipped, but you can safely preprocess the whole sequence and flip the result after preprocessing. To avoid the problem, you could ask the software manufacturer to support the ROWORDER keyword, see: https://free-ast...

Re: Placing a mark at an exact coordinate
Hello, no, but after the annotation is moved with the mouse, it can be moved precisely with the keyboard with CTRL + arrows. Actually if the point is removed and it's replaced with a star selection, then snapping is possible with the experimental shortcut SHIFT + S (with the annotation active, and a...

Re: Placing a mark at an exact coordinate
Hi, it can be done with the menu command: Image / Select / Coordinates. The shortcut is CTRL + ALT + P.
Another solution could be a script which asks the coordinates then transform them with the command Image.XY(ra,dec)

Re: Coregistering multiple images
Hi, Coregister as a script command and macro command (to apply it automatically on a list of files) will be available in SP3, released in January. To receive the pre-release next week just contact me by email or PM. "Automatic coregister" meant that it was no longer needed to select manually the ref...

Re: Mosaic and rotate
Hi, Mosaic does not rotate. The only solution would be to rotate the second image manually, before mosaic. The angle is the difference between the two images. It could be found via plate solve, or from the same two stars, using the command "Separation" from the Stars Window. For example, if one imag...

Re: Script commands in AA8 SP2
Hello, all the script commands are included in the documentation, but: Image.Stars.fwhmx() and Image.Stars.fwhmy() are no longer supported (because they could not detect diagonal elongation in AA7). They remain in AA8 for backward compatibility, but they are still not reliable. Replace them with Ima...

Re: 2 cameras using same driver
Hi, usually that is managed by the manufacturer with something like "Camera 1" and "Camera 2" in the ASCOM Chooser. Here is a quick example from Atik and QHY cameras: Camera1-2.jpg I suggest to ask the manufacturer what is the procedure to control two cameras with ASCOM. In Astroart, using one or tw...

Updated camera plugins for incoming SP3
Hello, at the Astroart web site: https://www.msb-astroart.com/ some plugins have been updated (ASCOM and Starlight-Xpress), for the incoming Astroart 8 SP3, which will be released in January. The 64 bit version of SP3 will support native 64 bit plugins for camera control. If you are already using th...

Re: Plate solving parameters in Telescope control Centering
Hi, everything about plate solving and astrometry is J2000.
If your telescope needs to work in JNow, then enable the options "JNow" both in the Goto and in the Center page of the telescope window. Probably in the future it will remain only one option for JNow, currently that is just a duplication.

Hello Patrick,
1) Slit mode now stars with RA,DE+,DE- pulses disabled.
2) It's possible to enable all them at once clicking the "Enable" label.
Fabio.
