Re: DeepSky, Planetary, etc. Useful Post-Process Workflows
Indeed, when a satisfactory workflow is found for our equipment, then it can be repeated without effort for all the future subjects. So I think that the actual goal is to find an (almost) repeatable procedure for one's instrumentation. A tutorial from another user is fine to learn the tools, but usu...

Re: Error trapping
Usually the .Connect commands stop the script if a connection error is found. For your research would you prefer a different Connect command which returns True or False?

Re: Plate solving - single vs stacked
Hello, probably the difference is not plate solve, it's star detection if the image is oversampled. It's possible that on stacked images the stars became too wide (> 15 pixels?) and could not be detected. You can verify this reducing the size of the image, for example with the command "Binning pixel...

Re: Automatic research script
I suggest to separate fields by spaces, it's much easier. For example: Name Ra Dec V I B V2301 Oph 18 00 35.5 +08 10 13.9 4 30 4 15 6 45 EP Dra 19 07 06.2 +69 08 44.0 4 30 4 30 5 60 then if you want to have a free format (any number of chars and spaces) here is a test script: s = "V2301 Oph 18 00 35...

Re: Automatic research script
Hi,
this task is done by other users, but they don't use the Telescope List. You need to create your own text database, then read that file in your script and use the data. If you write more information about your research I can give a better suggestion about the procedure and the script.

Re: Applying dark results in dark image
I meant the "Save" and "Open" buttons of Preprocessing, not scripts. Just save some Preprocessing with zero images but with the flat and darks that you need. Maybe I didn't understand the question. With a script you could also save the "pre" variables as text, then in Preprocessing you could open an...

Re: Applying dark results in dark image
Hi Rudi, for maximum productivity, you should prepare and Save some empty preprocessing with your flats and darks, so that you can recall them with one click. Yes, any combination of master flats and dark is possible: a list of N# flats in a box can be replaced by a single flat which was averaged pr...

Re: Drizzle
So, drizzle is working well on brighter stars but not on fainter ones? Are the images really undersampled ? Just like in this example: Drizzle.jpg Nowadays it's really rare to obtain images where drizzle is effective. Stars must be 1-2 pixel wide, like in the example above. The sequence should be ta...

Re: Indi support?
Hi, Indi is very interesting and I wish that it will be compatible with Windows one day. It's true that a Windows software can use indy now (after all it's just a network protocol) but the SDK and all the tools are not available: https://indilib.org/about/platforms.html so, without them, the only wa...

Re: Interprocess communications
Hi, yes for dithering. The second instance of AA will receive the dithering commands and adjust the reference. The reference cross will become blue during the settling. This can be tested indoor too: 1) Start the first AA instance, which will be used for guiding, connect the Simulator Camera and Tel...

Re: Script for fast moving objects
The previous script was quite simple: every N# exposures the telescope was recentered on the minor planet. An improved script would calculate automatically when to recenter the telescope, knowing the object speed and the field of view of the camera. The following script does that, after the user has...
