Re: "Follow minor planet" silently fails, FITS format issue?
Hello, DATE-OBS is a string, so it can extend beyond the 30th character. But just like all FITS strings it must begin with characther < ' > on the 11th character. You may compare it with the one created by the Camera Simulator. If you like, send me an image by email, maybe a solution is possible. Fa...

Re: files size change with same camera settings
Maybe there's a difference in the FITS header? The most important thing is the size in pixels, did it change?

New plugin for Canon cameras
Hello everybody, a new plugin is available for the latest Canon cameras (for example: 90D, 250D, 200D_II) which also support the latest mirrorless (RP, M200, M6_II). http://www.msb-astroart.com/ About mirroless or DSLR for generic use, last year I summarized: Advantages : the lack of the mirror and ...

Re: Dithering with PHD2 - setteling issues
It depends on the camera, but I think that if you lose 15 seconds every 120 seconds (so 12% of "quantum efficency" is lost) you are ruining the quality of the final image instead of improving with dithering (e.g. in the same time you could have taken more images). Again, it depends on the camera and...

Re: Dithering with PHD2 - setteling issues
Dithering with " 6 " is very high, it looks like the settling time was more than 15 seconds. Several pulses in DEC were not sufficient to take the star back, and the guide in DEC seems too "lazy", also during normal guide. Maybe last time the amount of dithering was lower? Do you really need 144 dit...

Re: Telescope Control for Guider
Hi, in the Telescope Window, is the "Goto" Setup set as ASCOM ? If yes, what is the guide speed in the mount ? Usually 0.5 X sideral (or between 0.2 - 0.7) is optimal. To verify the guide speed you could also make this test: take a short exposure, make a pulse of one second with the buttons or with ...

Re: AA6 or AA7 Meridian flips
Hello, via script it's possible to read the meridian flip position, then this information can be used for various purposes. By the way writing (setting) the meridian position is not possible, Astroart expects that meridian flips are handled by the ASCOM driver or by the mount itself. Depending your ...

Re: AA5 scripts and WIN10
Hello, with the piccdgui version 5.43, create a short script which triggers the problem, then copy and paste it on the forum.
When the GUI starts, verify that "Version 5.43" is shown in the status bar.

Re: AA5 scripts and WIN10
Hello,
if the same script works on the old PC, verify that AA5 and GUI plugin are the same version on the new PCs.
Last Service pack for AA5 was SP5, last GUI was version 5.43.
Please check and report about this.

Re: astrometric indicator on calibrated images
Thanks, the problem with PsAMS is that it cannot be calculated on a given image: to calculate you need the orbital parameters of the comet, at the time of the exposure. This could be shown as a data of the Astroart star atlas, but not on a generic image like the other vector. This is related to anot...
