Re: plate solve failure
I had similar problems... I received this sample script from one of the members (Iver): Maybe this will help. This is a script I run after a goto , it takes an image, solves it, syncs the scope to the image and then centers the target. raTar = Telescope.RA deTar = Telescope.DEC Camera.Binning(1) Cam...

Re: removing the bright sun from an image
Conrad/ Fabio,
There's an even easier way...
I use Sylvain's CORONO software.

Re: Airmass calculation
Erik,
If you use EQMod the Air Mass is already calculated for you, just click on the LST display and it turns to AirMass

Re: Focus a spectrum
Conrad,
A Fabio mentioned, this feature was to assist in the focus of reference lamp emission lines with the slit spectrograph.
This is a critical step in ensuring critical spectral image focusing and resolution.

Using FFT to remove Newton Rings in solar image?
Fabio, Unfortunately with my camera/ barlow combo I get NR in my solar images. Usually I tilt the camera to reduce them.. I saw the FFT function and according to the manual it could/ should help remove these NR. When I try the FFT, the FFT screen generated doesn't show the NR (in the example in the ...

Joerg,
I had the same error message .....
Just renamed "AA7servicepack3.zip.part" to "AA7servicepack3.zip" and it worked OK.

Re: Doubles stars whit Astroart7
Frank,
For serious double star measurements I'd also consider REDUC, from florent_losse@yahoo.fr
It's a very versatile program.

Drop Florent an email to obtain a copy.

Re: lodestar x2
I ‘ve been using AstroArt for many years.
I use an Lodestar for guiding my Spectrograph and an ATiK 314 for Spectral Imaging.
No issues, no dramas just does what you want it to do.

Re: Getting Started: Image capture
I’ve been using AA for the past ten years. It definitely meets my needs in spectroscopy.
I use an C11 on an NEQ6 with a spectroscope, four cameras and electronic finder.
Fabio has been very supportive of our needs.

profile of selected rectangle?
Fabio, To assist in evaluating a spectral image it would be good to be able to view the profile of the spectrum along a rectangle where the columns are summed/average ie if the spectrum image is say 10 pixel high, select a rectangle 13 x 200 and then show the summed profile along this length. Hope t...
