AA9 plate solver = Excellent!

AA9 now solves the polar field with high reliability! I start my mounts in the home position (aiming north), turn on tracking and then do an image of the polar field which now solves every time, and the mount now places most targets in the central portion of the camera field after the first goto! I ...

AA9 feature request: auto target name from goto name

AA9 feature request: auto sequence image name from goto name?

Would it be possible for the mount goto target to auto populate the sequence image name?

I goto M3, for example, and the sequence name automatically becomes M3.

Re: HX916 Image Download Fails

So, after almost 15 years, I am going to try to get back into imaging. I have an older Starlight Xpress HX916 with the USB 1.1 interface, which I'm running on a somewhat older Windows 10 laptop. I have followed all of the advice and instructions for getting the camera to function with Astroart. The...

M33 CCD F5 Vs CMOS F8

I managed a couple of test images last night whilst reactivating my observatory after a 6 month absence. The upper image is from an ASI1071MC and the lower is from an Orion SSPro. I used AA9LAA with the SSPro/10in F5 SCT/CEM60 and AA964bit with the ASI1071MC/10in F8 SCT/CEM120 (two different mounts ...

Hello, it's not possible to reduce the memory used, but you may use the LAA or the 64 bit version.
If the MiniPC has an SSD it will be very fast to use virtual memory on disk, even if the physical RAM is only 2 Gb.
Fabio.
OK, thanks.

Memory allocation per image

I've just been testing AA9 at my observatory and I've noticed that each image opened seems to use about twice as much memory as the actual uncompressed colour TIF image size; AA8 does the same. Is there some way to reduce memory allocation to equal actual image size? Each fits image opened from my A...

Auto Mosaic in AA9

The new Astroart 9 demo: one new feature: "Automatic mosaic from plate solved images." And it will correct for optical distortion. load two or more overlapping images that have been plate solved, or load them and plate solve them: Dropdown menu->Tools->plate solve then with both images open: drop do...

Hello.

No. Guiding is not active.
Besides, if i get a single image just before or after focus, the image is perfectly normal with round stars!

Re: Astroart with ASCOM remote

I'm not very happy with Chrome remote hence the USB rout. There is a thread on CN about remote connection options and Windows remote seems to have a lot of fans. Both my computers have Windows home so I would have to pay $100 to get Pro. On the other hand ASCOM remote is free so if anyone is using ...

Re: Astroart with ASCOM remote

Is anyone using ASCOM remote? I have my observatory up and running temporarily using USB extender. I want to set up wireless connection, either Windows remote desktop or ASCOM remote. If you are using ASCOM remote how is it working out for you? I don't use it, but why not just use a miniPC, running...

Hi,
I can't seem to locate a 64-bit version of the AA8 remote DLL. I found a previous discussion about this from back in 2016 but the link is dead.
Best Regards
