Re: script for automatic goto, platesolve, sync, centre, and FF autoguide

Hi, for the target list I suggest the first two examples in the paragraph "Automatic research script" (Telescope and camera script, and Autocenter script). For the autoguide I suggest the first section of this post: https://www.astroart-forum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=582 Eventually they will ne...

Re: luminans Mask

Hi Morten, OK, I didn't understand well the question. I confirm that White Balance does not work on masks, it works on the full image. I suggest this: select a mask with the mouse, then Mask->Image, this will create a new image for the mask, notice that the range is 16 bit (0..65535). Process this i...

Re: Synthetic Hubble (Duo NB) OSC - Dragons of Aria

Hi, I never used a duo narrowband filter, but I really like these colors, they give a "scientific feel" to the image.

Re: luminans Mask

even after Color > Luminance, the Histogram Stretch is needed anyway because the "mask image" must have exactly a 16 bit dynamic. Since the mask image is grayscale, no color filters are possible on it.

Re: luminans Mask

Hi, in general to create a mask from an image: 1) Create a duplicate of the image (for color images use Luminance). 2) On the duplicate, click Histogram stretch, move the sliders/curves to obtain the desired result, then Apply then OK. 3) On the duplicate, apply filters if needed. 4) Select the orig...

Re: Setteling time when using Center

Hi, the second exposure (option "Verify with extra exposure") is just a visual confirmation for the user, it's not plate-solved anyway. So, trailed stars will be ugly to see, but harmless. However, if you click "Start" again, that image will be reused for plate-solving, and it will fail as you wrote...

Re: Guiding - Hot pixels option

OK, so a solution could be a single click command to bring the crosshair to the slit position, or maybe a single click to disable/enable all guiding pulses at once. Actually both solutions can be added easily.

Re: Guiding - Hot pixels option

Hello, the amount of the filter cannot be changed, however if you are guiding in "Slit Mode" for spectroscopy, everything around the star is ignored, so the option HotPixels will not make any difference. Actually I would disable it, to be sure that the star is not manually placed above a real hot pi...

Re: Stacking leads to elongated stars in the corners

Hello, meanwhile I received and downloaded your sequence. I confirm that the change of distortions at the edge after the meridian flip (maybe caused by instrumentation weight?) cannot be corrected by AA. By the way a new code for that is already on development for AA8 SP3, I will send you the prerel...
