Re: Full Frame Focus Exposure Time By Filter
ASCOM relay boxes are rare hardware which converts USB/serial to an autoguide cable, it's probably not the correct settings. If there is no need to control the mount for GOTOs, I confirm that the correct setting is: "Camera 2 relays" / "Same connection of GOTO" or "ASCOM guider relays" / "Same conne...

Re: Full Frame Focus Exposure Time By Filter
... Looking at the full frame focusing window in AA8 there isn’t an option to set the exposure duration by filter (I.e. 3 seconds for LRGB filters and 30 seconds for the narrow band filters ... Until now it's only possible with scripts, but that's actually an interesting feature. It will be added t...

Re: RGB brightness cataloque
Hello, do you refer to the smaller catalog of 1346 stars or the bigger one with 15 millions stars ? At the moment other catalogs cannot be added to the Star Atlas, but these two catalogs could be accessed by an image processing plugin, for example to create a synthetic image, a reference to calibrat...

Re: Time stamp for recorded airmass
Hello, the airmass is calculated at mid-exposure.
Instead, DATE-OBS is always the start of exposure in the FITS standard, and mid-exposure is a calculated field, as: DATE-OBS + EXPOSURE/2.
Fabio.

Re: Vanderbei Deconvolution for coma and field curvature.
That's interesting. Yes, that plug-in is single-threaded. It looks like most of the blurring is caused by image deformations from different wavelengths, not PSF. Maybe after having separated the image into R-G-B channel the new alignment with distortions could attenuate the problem (align R to G, th...

Re: DDP star bloat
Hi, it's not easy to reply without seeing the actual image. By the way, you could use the StarNet plugin to apply DDP only on the nebula and not on the stars: 1) Duplicate the image, let's call it "B". 2) Apply your DDP on image "A". 3) Apply a DDP with low gamma and mid white point to image "B" (so...

Hi, just select the last tool in the Mask window, then click the arrow buttons:
Greetings, Fabio.
If you zoom-in the image, it will be precise to move the mask also with the mouse.Greetings, Fabio.

Re: AllCometEls.txt vs CometEls.txt
It must be happened in the last 3-4 days. That would cause trouble to a lot of software.
For the moment the only solution is to rename the file after the download.
Thanks, Fabio.

Hi Andrew, OK, it will be added to SP4 next week. Meanwhile consider the option "Alternate colors" to blink the images with slightly different colors, see the following animation:

Re: Stacking 10in F7 and F5 images
That's interesting. Using an improved algorithm it was possible to obtain the following result: N891sum2.jpg It's still not perfect (the "double stars" in the corners now look like "coma"). The correction is now included in SP4, if you like to receive the prerelease please write me by PM ore email. ...

Re: Stacking 10in F7 and F5 images
It looks like the distortions from F5 and from F7 are too different, even for that option. May you post the two separate images?
Fabio.

Updated ASCOM plugin v2.72
Hello, an updated plugin for ASCOM cameras is available at: https://www.msb-astroart.com/down_en.htm#cameracontrol which fixes two possible problems: 1) Setting an invalid temperature could block the plugin. 2) The ASCOM Chooser may not show up. If these two errors do not affect your camera, there's...
