Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question

Hi,
AFAIK the UCAC4 can be downloaded only via FTP (maybe there are some torrents too?)
So, you will need a FTP software: if you choose Filezilla remember to set "binary mode" in the Options, otherwise the download will be corrupted.

Re: avi look strange

Hello, it looks like that this subformat is not supported (maybe it's 8 bit palette ?). If possible, you should save as 24 bit RGB from the video program which created that. About this video, if really important, it could be converted with a video software.

Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question

Do you see a writing "Not found - GSC..." in the upper-left zone of the atlas?
This means that the C:/... folder was not selected in the Preferences

Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question

Hello, the GSC catalog is not internal, it's located in the folder "GSCData" of the CD and it should be copied on the harddisk, in a folder where you usually keep your astronomic data. Then that folder should be set in the Preferences of the star atlas. There are better catalogs by the way, for exam...

Re: Autofocusing in the sequencer

Hi, it takes a sequences of images (user defined, for example 5, 7, 9) and calculates the V-curve from them. For example, for 7 images, the focuser is moved backward for 3 "steps" and then moved forward for 7 "steps", so that 3 images are taken backward, 1 at the original position and 3 forward, all...

Re: Starlight Xpress SXV-M25C

Hi, I don't understand well the question: do you mean than you have both the M25C and the SXV Guider camera? If yes, just enable the option "SXV guider" in the plugin. The one for the M25C is available here: http://www.msb-astroart.com/ccd_en.htm#ccdsxsxv ("M25 version 2.00". The plugin for the "H" ...

Re: Autofocusing in the sequencer

Yes.
Before using autofocus in sequences, just remember to set the parameters in the new autofocus window, and test them one time manually. As written in the docs, it's also important to set the best binning (the one the gives a pixel size of 15-25 microns).

Re: Preprocessing question

Hello, what are the files of preprocessing? Maybe you are creating a master darkframe or flatfield with many files plus sigma combine? This could be the cause for the initial longer setup.

Re: New user - issues

Some other hints: 1) You can also change the visualization of the background (so the "black threshold") in these ways: press SHIFT and rotate the mouse wheel, or press SHIFT and PAGUP/PAGDOWN, or use the Histogram Window. These methods are described in the chapter "The image window", you may also pr...
