Re: FITS image flip

Hi, you could create two Macros 1 and 2 as "vertical flip" and "horizontal flip", so that you could launch them with the buttons "1" and "2". Please note that the Astroart FITS orientation is correct, so your images are actually flipped, as you can verify opening them with any official FITS viewer. ...

Re: flat frames problem

Only an updated ASI ASCOM driver could solve the problem. Maybe it's fixed yet, verify the latest version on the ASI web site. Some months ago there was a discussion about this also on the ASI forum. Some hints by the way: don't use a USB hub, connect the two cameras in a given order, both physicall...

Re: Astroart stacking error with flipped images

If the images contain big saturated stars, then installing the latest service pack is recommended.

Re: Plugins not appearing in 64bit version

..As I am taking my photos with a big-chip-cmos and am often taking many short photos, the 32bit version gets obstructed. Perhaps the LAA version does it better.... For taking many test photos you can also solve disabling the option "New window" in the "Image" tab of camera control. Do the same for...

Are bulb exposures taken if you press the shutter by hand?
Bulb mode is required for exposures longer than 30 seconds.

Re: Default directory and asteroid target list

About getting the coordinate of a minor planet from script (before doing that it's required to open the MPCOrb): ra,de = ObjectCoordinates("Ceres") print ra, de ra,de = ObjectCoordinates("12289") print ra, de It's not safe to set and use the windows current directory . It's better to add the directo...

Re: "Donuts" after synthetic gradient correction

Hello, I would start to solve the problem with real flat fields first. Usually this happens when the dark frames of the flat fields are not subtracted. "Image / Flat" is different from "(Image + Dark) / (Flat + Dark)". if your cameras do not need dark frames then use bias as darks. If the bias are a...

Re: Profile line: Strange behavior

Hello, I confirm that if the second point is outside the image then the "Change profile" function does not work. It will be fixed in Service Pack 6. For the moment the only solution is to limit the line inside the borders of the image.
Thanks, Fabio.

Re: Guiding problems

Hello, "Ascom camera relays" and "Lodestar relays" both mean the "relay cable", usually ST4 compatible, which is connected directly from the camera to the "ST4 autoguide port" of the mount. If you are not using that cable, then both settings are wrong. The best setting would have been that cable, bu...

Re: Download speed on ASCOM vs. native drivers

So, that ASCOM interface added a latency of 0.15 seconds per Megapixel. A native driver could be very useful for OSC cameras with more than 10 Megapixel, where you are forced to download images in binning 1x1. It will be developed. Meanwhile if QHY solves the ASCOM problem please report here. I didn...
