Re: Locating pixel with maximum ADU on an image
Thanks for that, I just have looked through every drop down box but missed the obvious one

Locating pixel with maximum ADU on an image
Hi All
Is there a way to locate a pixel (X and Y coords) with the highest ADU on an image?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Processing Seestar S50 images
Hi Fabio They are fits images. No derotator, the system takes 10s images and stacks them. Works fine for elevations less than about 80 deg. You can download the individual 10s fits images to use in image processing software such as AA8. The images are also corrected for darks. I’ve done astrometry o...

Demosaic - extracting green channels
Hi
The command "Demosaic RGB" allows the user to extract a single colour channel. However for Bayer patterns with 2 green channels, does AA8 sum or average these two or just pick one?
Regards
Andrew

Re: Processing Seestar S50 images
Hi Fabio
They are raw FITS files. I’d just be interested to know what’s recommended to simply process the images to make them look pretty
Cheers

Processing Seestar S50 images
Hi All
I was wondering whether anyone has used AA8 for processing images from Seestar S50. If so, do you have any helpful tips or main processing techniques that should be used to improve the image quality.
Regards

Re: Plate solving parameters in Telescope control Centering
Excellent, thanks Fabio. That’s exactly the process I follow. I was just unclear what catalogue the astrometry was based around but you’ve clarified that it’s the one used by the Star Atlas.

Re: Plate solving parameters in Telescope control Centering
Fabio, Thank you for your rapid and fulsome response - very clear now. If one does a GOTO using Jnow coordinates it makes sense to me to plate solve to Jnow coordinates during the Centre process. In fact after a GOTO using Jnow coordinates, if Jnow is not selected at the Centre page a warning is gi...

Script for plate solving
Hi All Apologies if this has been raised before but is there an existing script (or is it relatively easy to develop one) to make AA8 plate solve multiple images of the same field opened and one time and then save these to the same directory as FIT files? I have a large number of photometry images t...

PNV J17224490-4137160 - Nova in Scorpius
Hi All I was fortunate to discover this bright nova (https://www.aavso.org/aavso-alert-notice-821) a few days ago and once again AstroArt 8 played a big part in that with the discovery and followup. What I find very useful (and somewhat surprising) is that performing astrometry on a 150 square deg f...
